The Environmental Public Health Division (EPH) works to protect the public's health in Hidalgo County by permitting and inspecting food establishments.
Health Inspectors visit at random restaurants, stores, adult and child day care facilities, schools, and other establishments serving/selling food for evaluation of food safety practices. All establishments must have a valid and current permit issued by HCHHSD Environmental Health Division.
