Preparedness & Epidemiology

Purpose

The Public  Health Preparedness & Response Division (PHPR) leads the agency's preparedness and response activities by providing strategic direction, support, and coordination for activities  with local, state, national, and international public health and emergency management partners. The programs within this divsion include:

Funding

The Center for Disease Control's Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, Division of State and Local Readiness, administers funds for preparedness activities to state and local public health systems through the Public Health Preparedness & Response (PHPR) cooperative agreement.


Mission

This Division is committed to its role in an all-hazards approach to public health that addresses threats posed by varied causes whether natural disasters, pandemic outbreaks, criminal and terrorist attacks and/or catastrophic events.
